• Today in the library exist about 4100 books related to the subject of Chemical Engineering, and 107 scientific journals. There is also access to 270 books of chemistry and chemical engineering in and to 150 books of chemistry and chemical engineering of John Wiley & Sons, Inc. publishing house.

    Moreover, there is available space for reading.

    The School's Library is located on the 2nd floor of the Lecture Theaters building. Opening hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 - 15:00.

    User Category Borrowing Rights
    Department Members
    Undergraduate students, administrative and technical staff Up to 4 books for 15 days
    Academics, PhD candidates and postgraduate students Up to 15 books for 30 days
    Others Up to 3 books for 15 days

    In case of delay, user is required to pay a fine of 0.30E per day. When a fine is pending, user can't borrow from any AUth library until payoff.

    Users can renew borrowed books unless these are requested by other users.

    Member card is strictly personal and is valid for all AUth Libraries. Card is issued free of charge for the University members.

    A photocopy machine is available, with special cards, supplied by the library.

    The full catalogue of library books (November 2010) is located in .xls.file type.

    Journals are located in alphabetical order. Current journal issues can be found on special shelves. Journals can't be borrowed. Reference books include: encyclopedias, dictionaries, indices, yearbooks, bibliographies, handbooks, manuals etc. Reference books can't be borrowed.

    Diploma theses are classified by Department: a. chemistry b. technique of unit operations and applied thermodynamics c. analysis, design and control of chemical operations and installations d. technologies. Borrowing and photocopying of thesises are prohibited.
    There is alphabetical catalogue of PhDs. Borrowing and photocopying of PhDs are not permitted.



  • For best operation of library users are asked to follow certain rules.
  1. Bags or other personal items are put in the reception place. 
  2. Place, stuff, other users and personnel should be respected. 
  3. Noise is prohibited. 
  4. Use of food or drnks is prohibited.
  5. Smoking is prohibited.
  6. Books and magazines are used carefully. Writing on them or page crimping is prohibited.
  7. Replacing books is prohibited.
  8. Use of PC is permitted only for opac book search.
  9. Use of photocopy machines is permitted only for library stuff.
  10. Cell phones should be in lower volume or deactivated.
