  1. Fabrication and characterization of new bioactive materials, composites, and hybrids. Study of the chemical interactions and the mechanisms for the development of new morphologies (particles, coatings, scaffolds, fibers) appropriate for applications in Biomedical Engineering.
  2. Novel 3D printed bioinks for the development of tissue-engineered scaffolds.
  3. Study of the cell-material interactions and the mechanisms of cell proliferation and differentiation.
  4. Fabrication and functionalization of bioactive materials for the delivery, synergy, and restoration of antibiotics that bacteria resists. Study of the restoration mechanisms of antibiotics during synergism with different bioactive systems.
  5. Study of the antibacterial and antibiofilm characteristics of novel systems for biomedical applications. Study of the mutation mechanism of bacteria and changes in the phenotype during the exposure to antibacterial systems.
