Since July 2022 the library of the Department of Chemical Engineering is housed in the unified library of the Polytechnic School, in Building E10, together with the libraries of the Departments of Civil-, Mechanical-, and Urban Planning and Development Engineering. The library is open to students, faculty, as well as visitors interested in engineering literature.
The principles of the library operation are defined by the A.U.Th. Library System and can be found at: https://www.lib.auth.gr.
Students and faculty can register in the library loaning system provided that they possess a valid academic ID.
Literature and book search can be done at https://search.lib.auth.gr/.

The library is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 am till 2:30 pm.

Borrowing

Fines
In case of a delay, the user is required to pay a fine of 0.30E per day. When a fine is pending, the user cannot borrow books from any A.U.Th. library.

Renewal
Users can renew borrowed books unless these are requested by other users. 

Card Issue
Membership cards are strictly personal and is valid for all A.U.Th Libraries. Cards are issued free of charge for University members 

Photocopies
A photocopy machine is available, operated with special cards, supplied by the library 

Books – Reference books
A full catalogue of library books (November 2017) is available in electronic form. Reference books include: encyclopedias, dictionaries, indices, yearbooks, bibliographies, handbooks, manuals etc. Reference books cannot be borrowed.

Journals
Journals are located in alphabetical order. Current journal issues can be found on special shelves. Journals cannot be borrowed.

Diploma theses – PhDs
Diploma theses are classified by Division: a. Chemistry b. Unit Operations and Applied Thermodynamics c. Analysis, Design and Control of Chemical Processes d. Technologies. Borrowing and photocopying of Theses is prohibited.

There is an alphabetical catalogue of PhD theses. Borrowing and photocopying is not permitted.

For best operation of the library, users are asked to respect the following rules.
1. We leave bags or other personal items in the reception.
2. We respect the place, the library material, other users, and the library personnel.
3. We do not make any noise.
4. We do not use of food or drinks
5. Smoking is prohibited.
6. We handle books and magazines carefully. Writing on them or page crimping is prohibited
7. We do not place the books back on the selves.
8. Use of PCs is permitted only for book search.
9. Use of photocopy machines is permitted only for library material
10. Cell phones should be put in silent mode or deactivated.
